Senior Trumpeter at Mount Allison University gives her fourth year recital.

Uncontrollable Occurences

Laura McLean, a senior in the Bachelor of Music program as a soprano, was prepared to preform a solo recital when she contracted Mononucleosis (Mono) only a short time before. This unfortunately put an end to the recital itself as it would have been more strain on her voice then was healthy. She had a fantastic poster and later the same year was accepted at the New England Conservatory.

Musicians, Awards and Music oh My!!!

2nd Annual Faculty Gala Concert and Awards Banquet. The Mount A faculty are given an opportunity to strut their stuff in Brunton Auditorium which kick starts the year into gear.

Gabreili Anyone?

It seems that no brass ensemble concert is complete without some form of Gabreilli work. In the winter semester of 2007-2008 school year, a three choir Gabreilli was choosen. Two choirs consisting of Mount Allison students and the other made up of the Stadacona Band Brass Quintet. With the concert in the Universtities Chapel, it was quite possible to hear the parts echoing throughout the sanctuary.

Jazz at Jennings: an annual concert at Jennings Meal Hall; the catch, Dr. James Code was entering the last year before retirement from Mount Allison... Mount Allison Alumni from the 1970s till 2006 gathered to form a big band. So again I ask... You were here when??

 A new part of our Christmas Collegium, Dr. Elizabeth Wells, preformed 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, however composed it to include the conservatory faculty. It has become a favorite among the students

‘Twas the night before Christmas, with keyboard and mouse,
I was working quite late in our musical house.
The tree was all set with professor’s wee faces
And interesting comments in various places.
The students were sleeping in practice room beds
With fear of their juries all filling their heads
So Sha Sha on her throne and I in my cap
Had just settled down for a pre-Collegium nap
When on Brunton stage there arose such a clatter
Even Bonnie and Menjo said “What is the matter”?
We ran to the stage and before our wide eyes
Wes Ferreira and Ferguson said “sub-divide”
And without any warning we looked up and saw
All our colleagues were reindeer; each raised a small paw
On Crutchley! On Pridmore! On Vogan and Martin!
On Gould, Groom and Code, and that Runge-guy, the smart one!
Before we could tell if this all was some trick
Came a bearded young fellow who must be Saint Peck.
With Hannah beside him with CDs and book,
He winked with his eye and his finger he crooked.
I’ll tell you a secret,he said with a grin
The real Saint Nick is our own Rogosin
With Johnson and Klaus and Maclean as his minions
He’s filled all these reindeer with crazy opinions
And just when I thought “what opinions are these?”
My little Sha Sha woke me up with a sneeze.
It’s only a dream, she said purring to me
Just wish them one thing when those students you see
You’re working too much and you all need a break
And she said as she gave her warm paw a small shake
“Just tell them before they all go out of sight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! “
